What goes into an article on the PortfolioTrackr blog, where the facts come from, and what we do when something changes.

What the blog is for

The PortfolioTrackr blog covers markets, portfolio tracking and how to use our product. Articles are written for information and education.

Where the facts come from

• Markets. Exchange hours, trading weeks and holiday calendars come from the exchanges' own published calendars and national holiday lists. Where a date is an estimate rather than a published one, the product says so.
• Brokers. What a broker connection can and cannot do comes from that broker's published documentation and from our own connection code.
• PortfolioTrackr itself. The coverage numbers on this site, exchanges, currencies and brokers, are read from the product's code, not typed. When one of them changes, every copy of it on the blog is corrected in the same pass.
• Prices and alerts. Timing claims, such as how often prices refresh and how quickly an alert goes out, describe what the product's own engine does, and we do not use words like "instant" or "real-time" for alerts.

How comparisons are made

Facts about other products come from their public pricing and help pages, as read when the article was written. We say where the other product wins. We built PortfolioTrackr, so a verdict in a comparison is our view, and every comparison article carries a box that says so, with the date it was last updated. Check the other products yourself before you pay for anything.

Market news

Articles about the news are written from published reporting and name it. They explain what an event could mean for a portfolio; they are not a recommendation to trade on it.

Updates and corrections

Markets move, and facts that were accurate when an article was published can go out of date. If we learn that an article contains an error of fact, we correct it, and for material errors we add a dated note saying what changed. The full policy is on the corrections page.

The only product we sell

PortfolioTrackr is the only product we sell. When an article mentions it, that is us talking about our own product. We run an affiliate programme for people who refer customers to us; it does not change what an article says.

How articles are written

We use AI tools to help draft and edit articles. Every article is read by a person before it goes out, its facts are checked against the sources above, and a named writer takes responsibility for it. If an article turns out to be wrong, the correction is on us, not on the tool.
