Export from your broker or app

Most brokers and portfolio apps have a CSV export option. In Sharesight it's under Reports. In Yahoo Finance it's the download button on your portfolio page. In most brokers it's in Account → Transaction History or Holdings.

Click Import in your dashboard

Hit the ⬆ IMPORT button in your dashboard action bar. Select your CSV file. PortfolioTrackr reads the columns, maps tickers, quantities and average costs, and shows you a preview before anything is saved.

Can I also export my portfolio as CSV?

Yes. Pro and Lifetime users can export their full portfolio at any time as a CSV — including current prices, total P&L, individual position P&L, and all position details. Useful for your own records or migrating to another tool.

Will importing overwrite my existing positions?

No. The import preview shows you exactly what will be added before anything is saved. You choose whether to add to existing positions or replace them. Nothing is automatic — you're always in control.

What if my CSV columns have different names?

The importer handles common column name variations automatically (e.g. "Symbol", "Shares", "Average Price", "Avg Buy"). If your file uses non-standard names, the preview will flag any unmatched columns so you can map them manually.

Is there a limit on how many positions I can import?

Pro users can track up to 5 portfolios with unlimited positions per portfolio. Lifetime users have unlimited portfolios and unlimited positions. There's no cap on import size.

Do imported positions get live prices immediately?

Yes. As soon as you confirm the import, PortfolioTrackr fetches live prices for all recognised tickers. Your P&L, portfolio value and position cards are all live within seconds.
